A brother of Wigan murder probe mum Geeta Rao has admitted a race hate crime.
Michael Vithal Rao was sentenced to a 60-hour community order after pleading guilty to a charge of racially-aggravated harassment at Wigan Magistrates Court.

The 39-year-old from Douglas House, Scholes, was also given a 12-month supervision order and referred for alcohol dependency treatment.
He was prosecuted over an incident in Wigan on October 26.

His brother, John Rao, 40, of Greenwood Road, Standish, is due to stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court in February for the knife murder of their sister Geeta at her Standish home earlier this year.

John Rao is also charged with the attempted murder of their mother Leela, who has also since died.
